Lots of big changes since the last post – I quit my job, went back to school, started a new career, Erin and I both got new jobs and we moved across the country to North Carolina. Needless to say things have been a little busy.
We’ve settled into our new house in Durham and are exploring the area to figure out where we ultimately want to end up – it’s trickier than most cities, because Durham, Raleigh, and Chapel Hill are all close together so first you need to narrow down which town is the right fit before exploring neighborhoods.
We’ve been eating lots of BBQ and trying to get a feel for the local scene here, and had a great time doing just that at the Salt & Smoke Festival earlier this month. I first heard about this on a Youtube channel called 3 hungry guys, and it looked like a blast. We got there just as the sun had set, next time I’d go earlier in the day as it got chilly quickly. Luckily the delicious bbq and great live music kept us warm throughout the night.
